Bouquet or floral arrangement? How to choose the right design

A guide to comparing bouquets, flower boxes and baskets: check the format, option, accessories and price.

Bouquet or floral arrangement? How to choose the right design

You have found two photographs you like, but the products look different: one is a hand-tied bouquet, while the other has flowers arranged in a box. Before comparing prices, decide where the gift will be placed and what each option includes.

Start with the product format

A flower bouquet is a tied composition for which the recipient will usually need a vase. With a floral arrangement, the container is part of the presentation; however, check whether the container shown in the photograph is included with the selected option.

For a narrow table, compare the container’s footprint and the stated height. For a gift presented in person, also consider transport and how it will be carried. Do not infer dimensions from a close-up photograph.

Compare the same option, not just the starting price

  1. Select the option you are comparing for each product.
  2. Read the flower types and quantities that are stated explicitly.
  3. Check which wrapping, box, basket and accessories are included.
  4. Separate the product price from the delivery charge and the total for the chosen destination.

For example, a composition made with voluminous flowers and one containing more small flowers cannot be assessed only by stem count. A larger container does not prove that the arrangement contains more flowers either.

Box, basket or mixed bouquet?

A flower box also places emphasis on the container. For flower baskets, the basket shape and the orientation of the composition are useful selection criteria. A mixed bouquet is defined by its combination of species and textures, rather than by a required container.

What the photograph cannot confirm

A catalogue image is not a photograph of an order that has already been made. It does not confirm stock, availability in a particular place or the inclusion of every decorative object. If important information is missing, do not fill the gap with assumptions.
